Amazing place with free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, and air conditioning. I remember my first stay when the staff helped me with a hot drink in the cold. I'm coming back for Christmas!

what a terribly underwhelming experience at ambassador thermal motel! the room had dust everywhere. A delightful assortment of spiders to keep us company. i woudl ve been overjoyed with a complimentary upgrade after such inconveniences, but alas, no one seemed to care. almost considered giving a favorable review, but just couldn’t, you know?

The property felt outdated and was not well maintained. we spotted a mouse in the room which didn’t help with comfort. Additionally, our unit was situated near the entrance, meaning it was dark and noisy with little soundproofing from footsteps and loud guests. The overwhelming sulfur smell was hard to avoid, particularly with the location’s geothermal activity.

Consider requesting a room away from the road for added peace and quieter nights. The outdoor space offers a pleasant atmosphere.

The location of Ambassador Thermal Motel near the lake provided a great base to explore Rotorua. The thermal pool directly at the motel was a highlight, perfect for unwinding. My room had a nice spacious layout and daily cleaning, which made a big difference. Friendly staff made check-in smooth. However, the room was dated, with some appliances not functioning properly. The stove top barely worked, making it inconvenient when cooking. The decor felt tired, and there were moments when the cleanliness left something to be desired. The hot tub also wasn’t inviting due to its temperature and overall cleanliness. Despite these issues, the proximity to attractions and the usable facilities made the stay decent overall.
